The McDaniel 1Card is the official identification card of McDaniel College. It is issued to all members of the College Community and is required for identification and access to essential campus services. It also offers a convenient account for making purchases on and off campus. All students, faculty, and staff at McDaniel College are currently eligible to receive an McDaniel 1Card.
Students will receive their new McDaniel 1Card when they arrive on campus. Please check with student affairs about the schedule for new, returning and transfer students. Otherwise, cards are issued and distributed at the McDaniel 1Card Office, located on level one of the Hoover Library in the Reference and Tech Support Area. Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-4:30 PM, and by appointment.
Immediately report a lost or stolen card to the McDaniel 1Card Office and deactivate your McDaniel Bucks account by clicking here or call 1-888-883-7003. Replacement cards are issued on level one of the Hoover Library in the Reference and Tech Support Area. Monday to Thursday 8:00 am to 7:00 pm – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm – Saturday 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, and by appointment. A $35 fee will be charged to replace your card. Once you are issued a new McDaniel 1Card, you have the ability to pay the $35 replacement fee right away with your new Card.
Your Student ID Number is located on the front of your McDaniel 1Card. It is not your social security number, but a unique number that is 7 digits in length. If the ID# printed on your card is less than 7 digits, you must add one or more 0’s (zero) to the front of it to make it 7 digits in length when adding value online or using other account center features.
Your 16-digit McDaniel Bucks number is located on the front of your McDaniel 1Card and uniquely identifies your prepaid spending account.

McDaniel Bucks is a cashless, prepaid spending account on your McDaniel 1Card that is accepted on and around the McDaniel College campus. You must add value to your account before using McDaniel Bucks to make purchases and have have sufficient value available in your account to pay for each transaction. Every time you use your McDaniel Bucks account, the amount of the transaction will be deducted from your account and you may not spend more value than you have. Unused balances roll over semester-to-semester and year-to-year.
Funds transferred by debit/credit card are available instantly.
McDaniel Bucks can be used at many campus locations and at off-campus businesses. These can be identified by the “Welcomed” sign featuring the McDaniel Bucks logo. Click here for a complete list of accepting locations.
At retail locations, McDaniel Bucks works much like a debit or credit card. Just present your McDaniel 1Card for payment to the attendant at the register. Your card will be swiped in a terminal and the transaction authorized. You will need to sign a printed receipt of the approved transaction. At self-service locations, simply insert your card in the terminal.
If the self-service machine does not work properly, you will not be charged for the transaction. If for any reason you are charged, please email us a refund request. Please include the location, date & time of the transaction(s) in question.
Cardholder suggestions are welcome and encouraged. Recommendations can be sent via e-mail to our recruitment department. Please include the name of the location and why you would like to see them join the program.
Go to McDaniel Bucks Cardholder Account Center. Under the Login button, click [Forgot your username or password?] and follow the instructions.

Please see section 20: Unused Account Funds of the Cardholder Terms and Conditions All funds will transfer to the next year through the last semester of your Senior Year. Any balance on the card at that time will be forfeited. For students withdrawing prior to the start of the semester, any balance left on the card will be returned less the administrative fee of $20.00. For any other refund request, refer to the Student Handbook.
